After a season of finishing in third place in the Premier League and winning a bronze medal at the playoffs, as well as only just missing out on qualification for the prestigious EuroLeague Challenge Cup, this year's iteration of the Steelers Premier League Team look to be back with a vengeance.
Steelers are delighted to welcome back a number of previous members for the 2017-18 season, the result of the Great Britain Training Programme being relocated to Sheffield and many players coming back from abroad to be a part of the Centralised Training.
We welcome back Harry, Phil, James and George, who are coming back to join four returning players from last season's team in Mark, Ben, Joe and Joe. On top of all of this, the Premier Team managed a late-summer signing in Abdi, a long-time rival with Wolverhampton and Oldham, now a member of the Steelers. This core group of players forms what is without a doubt one of the strongest core groups of players that the club has had in the last 10 years.
With 8 named players for the Premier Team, there remain 4 roster spots open for players from the lower divisions looking to play up, offering some of our developing players an amazing opportunity to play with international-caliber players, including two Paralympic Bronze Medalists.
The Steelers will once again be entering the EuroCup competition for 2018, with the Premier League players likely to constitute the bulk of the squad that will represent the club in Europe.
